The group designed for all things Bitcoin and blockchain related for enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, economists, developers and investors to join us. All meetups are free and will be held in Richmond (VCU College of Engineering)
  • Blockchain Conference
  • RVASEC Conference: May 22-23, VCU

CAE Outreach

K-12 Outreach

  • VCU 6-12 School Program: Dr. Fung visits high schools in the Great Richmond area delivering guest lectures to junior high students about computer science and technology since 2015. The visited high schools include Deep Run High School, Hermitage High School, CodeRVA and Highland Springs High School. The lectures provide education on current computer science research and technology and are intended to attract talented young minds to participate in the summer internship.
  • VCU Summer Internship Program 6-12: In 2015 Dr. Fung co-founded the High School Summer Internship program at VCU with the support from many high school teachers. The summer internship is an 8-week long program providing an opportunity for high school students to work on various projects. The summer internship program includes background lectures, project meetings, project progress workshops, project presentations and weekly seminars (see appendix for the sample calendar). Students are divided into groups on projects and are mentored by research assistants and faculty members. Every year dozens of high school students are enrolled into the summer program and study computer science.
